I am not sure where my interest in songs about rain came from. It probably came after I realized my marriage to Dennis was headed for divorce. There was a song that began to play on the radio by Jo Dee Messina “Bring On The Rain”
That song really spoke volumes to me during such a hard time in my life. It talks about handling the rain storm today. Tomorrow is another day and we will handle that storm tomorrow. That is exactly how I handled that hard time and everyone since then. Take it one day at a time.
I remember putting that song on repeat and playing it non-stop for hours. Just crying my eyes out and cleansing my soul.
It is so funny how that song has a different meaning now. It allows me to reflect on that hard time but also I remember that I am on the other side of that rainstorm and I am able to enjoy more rainbows now.
Rain is only temporary. That secret is to push through the storm. Learn to dance in the rain. Splash in the puddles and remember that after the storm there will be a rainbow.
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing many of my “rain” songs that have helped me get through those storms. Take Care Much love
