What does your name mean
I am not talking about what a baby book or what your family says your name means
Or If it originates From Denmark or England
But if your name is mentioned to someone what do you think others say to define you
Not labels or physical descriptions
“The chubby girl”
“The skinny guy”
“The bald man”
Not association either.
Like Georges son Tyler’s mom.
But what is the first thought that pops into someone’s head when your name is mentioned
Do we allow other people to define who we are by a label
Does it matter what others think of us?
WHen Lilie was in Basic Training she was so concerned what others would think of her if she failed out. She was afraid of others being disappointed. But what I tried to say to encourage her was “All that matters is that you tried your best and that you are happy with your effort”
What is your worth
Not monetary
Don’t tell me who you are, show me who you are.
There was a patient at work a while back that everytime someone walked into the room he would tell the person he was a millionaire, all these accomplishments he had in his life. Not sure if he was trying to impress them or if he felt like that is what defined him. But for me, none of that stuff impresses me.
Don’t tell me who you are, show me who you are. I want to see how you treat someone that can never pay you back, I want to see how you treat the elderly, women and children.
In society, I think we strive too much to have all these physical things to show for our lives rather than the people we have impacted.
