I had an AHA moment the other day. I was watching a reality show and there was a woman that had remarried. She was talking about her first marriage just did not feel right. But when she met her soon-to-be-2nd husband she knew she wanted to make memories with him.
At that moment it hit me. I too want to make memories with someone. I enjoy making memories with people. That is what I love about spending time with my girls and even my grandson. Material items will fade, tarnish, break or wear down. But memories will stay with you as long as you remember it every now and then.
One of my favorite memories with my girls is our Christmas tradition. We don’t really focus on material items. We wake up, I make Dutch pancokes. Then we do the saran wrap ball game. Basically, I make this huge ball out of saran wrap, trinkets, gift cards, gag gifts. We pass it around to see who gets the funny stuff and who gets the cool stuff. Then later we go see a Disney Movie. That is how I like to spend the holiday. Not worrying about the latest fad my girls would want or go to 10 dinners in 2 hours. Just a laid back day spending it with my loved ones.
I look forward to the future and the possibility of getting remarried and creating memories with that person. For right now I will hold on to the great memories I have already made. Take Care Much Love
