How Squeaky Does The Wheel Need To Be

7/8/2018

For anyone that truly knows me they can tell you that I have a hard time asking for help.

Some of it has to do with pride

Some has to do with being a single parent for many years.  You have to come up with a solution and there is no leigh way to ask for help

A BIG PART has to do with being afraid of rejection and taking it personally.  They don’t want to help me, rather they cant help with the task.  I can get in the mind set that if I was really important to that person they would find a way to help me.  I know it is a struggle I need to get over.  I hope to do that.  The first step is self-awarness and that is where I am.  Just got to figure out what the next step is.

So with that being said this radical challenge was a HUGE challenge for me.  There would be many things I would need to ask others for help with.

Packing

Moving

Driving

Housing for Me

Housing for Duke

Job search

And the list goes on.

One thing I had to ask for help with was my car.  Starting back in Dayton it was like playing Russian Roulette.  Sometimes it would start, other times it would not,  I could have trouble with it stall if I used the headlights and or air conditioner.  The car was still working so I just put it on my list of to-do for Charleston

It could get frustrating making sure I had my jumper cable charger charged all the time.  But I did it because it is what got the car started when it would not start.

So I started to just go with the flow and just use the charger when I needed to.  I was at some event and a sister mentioned to me that a brother in the church was good with mechanical stuff.

At the next event I saw him I asked if he could look at it on Sunday.  He agreed.  It had slipped my mind until Sunday.  So I forgot to remind him on Saturday.  So of course when I went up to him he had the “deer in the headlights” look and said he did not have his tool box.  It was easy for me to draw back and say “Okay maybe next week”  But instead I just asked if he could at least look at it.  He agreed.  Basically, he just wiped off the connectors and tighten some wire and VIOLA it works.

So this reminds me that Squeaking Wheel Gets The Oil.  It does not have to be a Screeching Wheel

To GOD Be The GLORY

Take Care.  Much Love
