A few years ago when we still did not have a car I had a friend Sherry that would take me to the grocery store at the beginning of the month so I could get groceries. So I was doing my grocery shopping while Sherry did hers. We met at the register to check out about the same time. She ended up getting done before me, so she headed to her car to wait for me. The cashier gave me my total. I told her that I had Food Stamps. After I swiped my Food Stamp Card there was still an amount to pay in cash for household goods. I went to get in my wallet to realize that I did not have my debit card. At that moment I realize that my debit card was sitting at home by the computer because I had paid some bills before coming to the grocery store. I decided to run outside to see if I could borrow the money from Sherry until I got home. She did not have the money. So I ran back to the store to let them know I would have to suspend my transaction until I could come back to pay it.
Well, I get back to the store to find out that the person behind me paid it. I was so encouraged. I tried not to read into the fact that maybe they just paid it so they did not have to wait any longer. But I stopped myself from that way of thinking. Because, no matter if that was their reason for doing it. All that mattered is that they paid for my groceries. It was definitely encouraging. on Register 12
