A few months ago Katy Perry was on The Late Late Show and doing Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.
She had just cut all her long hair off and James was asking her about it. She said the most poignant and powerful statement:
“I believe in everything having a reason and a purpose and destiny. And I had to make all those mistakes to get to this mistake right here”
That is so powerful. We can all sit back and think of all our mistakes. But do we ever really think about the fact that all our mistakes were a part of our purpose and destiny.
Do we think about the fact that if it was not for the mistakes we have made that we would not be where we are at this exact moment?
There are so many things I can list as a mistake or things that cause me to struggle. But without those things. I would not be the strong woman I am today. I would never have had the courage to do speeches, being single for over 10 years, or to start a blog.
Sure it stinks to make mistakes. Crow does not taste good cold. But without mistakes, we would be living a sheltered and cushioned life.
How exciting would that be? To live life to the fullness and not being afraid of making a mistake. And when we do make a mistake allowing it to make us stronger. Not to make us weaker or even to get stuck.
Thanks, Katy Perry for these words of wisdom. Such a great motto for life. Take Care. Much Love.
