Do you ever look at the detours or broken roads in your life as a blessing? I think that it is hard for most of us to see a broken road as a blessing. For me, it has taken me a while to see that those “bad” things were helping me to grow. Or even protecting me from a road of destruction.
This song has a romantic feel for it. For me, I see the words as it is a blessing for the broken road because it leads me to improved things. It blows my mind that GOD takes us down a different road than we wanted but the different road is so much more incredible than the road we wanted to go down.
I have learned to not question GOD’s detour roads. Don’t get me wrong I do question some things just not as much as I use to. I look back at my journey just in awe of where I am now and how GOD has protected me from so much.
Every time I hear this song it reminds me to be grateful for the broken road
Take Care Much Love
Bless The Broken Road
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to you
That every long-lost dream leads me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Yes it did
I think about the years I spent just passing through
I’d like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming true
Every long-lost dream led me to where you are
And others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know it’s true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Yeah
And now I’m just rolling home
Into my lover’s arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
Ooh, ooh
That led me straight to you
