A few days before my birthday I decided to take myself out to lunch to one of my favorite restaurants “The Wheat Penny” to have the best Eggplant Fries in the world.
I noticed there was 4 Air Force personnel sitting at the table beside me. I really wanted to do something to encourage them but the food is not cheap at this place. So I decide it is the thought that counts. My waitress comes to give me my check and I ask if she is their waitress too. She says she is. So I tell her that I would like to pay $10 of their bill. She seems surprised. She said thanks and then goes to cash out my bill. She comes back and kneels beside me and shows me her arm. She says “You gave me goosie bumps for what you did” I explain to her about my challenge and that I just want to encourage people. She said it meant a lot and thanked me. Before I left I told her it was not necessary to tell them that it was me. So not sure if they know but that does not matter. What matters is I encouraged someone and at the moment it was the waitress.
I think I have mentioned before that I strive to remain anonymous when I do Random Acts of Kindness. Because if I let the encouragee know who I am than I can feed in the way they react. So especially in this situation, I wanted to make sure that the service men and women did not know who I was. I was pretty happy that I was able to walk out of that restaurant without them knowing who I was.
Take Care. Much Love
