About a year ago I was in Alaska visiting Bethanie and her family, One Day we went to the Commissary to buy some stuff for Easter. As we were walking through the parking getting closer to the building I noticed that there were “things” in the grass that were teal. As I got closer I realized that they were teal flags. That made up a HUGE Teal Ribbon.
My heart dropped because I knew what the significance was of the display. Bethanie and one of her friends were walking behind me, I asked Bethanie to come my way and sent her friend to go to the commissary. I pointed at the display and then I started whale crying on her shoulder. She helped me to get myself together.
That display was the first time that I had seen something like that on a military installation. I really don’t know if there has been a HUGE change in the way MST is handled. All I know is that seeing that display hit my heart to see something like that on a military installation
That display was so powerful. I felt that the military was finally hearing our voices and letting the world know about it.
This affirmation of the military acknowledgment continued when I went to Wright Patt with Bethanie a few months ago and saw a banner on display. Both of these displays took my breath away. This is not the end. I pray that the military continues to make strides forward.
Take care. Much Love
